I think you did a terrific job of capturing Molly's elegant form in LEGO brick. My personal favorites of the engines are Arthur and Molly. I do wonder why you didn't do James- he completes the 'big engine trio' from the show, and I believe all the bricks are available to do him in real life. Henry and Gordon look great- I love the Technic valve gear on them, and on Arthur as well. I must say Thomas and Edward do look a little odd without their domes, but you've done a wonderful job of capturing Thomas' shape and his sloped front end. Per the Site Guidelines, please keep embedded images to a maximum resolution of 800 x 600 pixels (image converted to a link)īeing a massive Thomas fan, I am pleasantly surprised by all of these. Furthermore I plan to disassemble the engine and build it new, some parts look weird and the model needs a good mechanism for the curves. This tender down there is pretty much destroyed and looks like the LDD-version now. But I have to disappoint you, the real model looks much closer to the LDD model than to the model down there. I just realized, I have a picture of my C1 from about one year ago, but that model was so bad (for me), so much has changed since then. Oh,what I have to say about the big station: I can't really work on that because it has soooo many pieces that the computer gets very slow! Altogether a little bit more than 10,000 pieces, who wants to have that? Here is a list of the real engines my models could be used for:Īnd I have to say - those 5 engines came out the best I think.Īnd at the end a picture of all the engines I have created. I planned Toby with power functions so he would be fully compatible with it.Īnd I've uploaded some LDD-files on Brickshelf, here is the link: -> Īs Thomas and Friends is based on British engines this is not something just for Thomas fans. The good news: I made a Percy and a Toby model. Sorry guys, but I think when I'll come back in July I'll create an own thread for that. The bad news first: I am currently in the USA to improve my English and not in Austria where the brick-built model of the C1 is. P.P.: Sorry, I tried to upload the pictures here but it didn't work so I put just the link there.Įdit: Found out how to post the pictures directly. P.S.: I actually wanted to upload my Thomas model on Cuusoo, but as someone else made a (not the best) Thomas model before me they didn't allow me to. I built the model out of 2 Emerald Nights, however I don't have actual pictures for the real version. That is the only engine that I actually have in real bricks, however the LDD model is a little bit different - I don't have green wheels and am planning to buy the XL Big Ben Bricks drivers which should look better. Then Edward, I designed the driving wheels higher as I would use Big Ben Bricks medium drivers for that model.Ī narrow gauge train layout with the existing lego trackĪnd at last a GNR C1 Atlantic engine. It took me about 1 year till now (or even longer) to design all the engines. Here I am presenting my Lego Thomas and Friends range that I have designed totally in LDD. Hi I'm new in this forum (well, actually I have been reading here for a year) so I'll do something myself.
